We’ve rounded up some of our favourite dishes from all the places we’ve eaten this month. The stand out bangers, we’d happily go back and eat again and again…and again. If any tickle your fancy, you best get down and try them sharpish, just don’t blame us if the “daily changing menu” has already wiped ’em out!
Sea urchin custard with yuzu at Rothay Manor in the Lake District. The weather may not be great but the food is. Chef Daniel McGeorge was winner of this year’s GBM.
Rothay Bridge, Ambleside LA22 0EH
Berkswell cheese pudding at L’Enclume, Simon Rogan’s restaurant in the Lakes. Massive bucket list ticker. Perfect in every way.
Cavendish St, Cartmel, Grange-over-Sands LA11 6QA
This crab and artichoke dip at Sunday in Brooklyn, the cult NYC spot that has just landed in Notting Hill, is a little pot of molten joy and worth the trip out west.
98 Westbourne Grove, London W2 5RU
Cubano sandwich at Bar la Rampa, the new Cuban spot where the food is as loud as the music, and the menu is created by the guys at TATA Eatery.
7/8 Market Pl, London W1W 8AG
Pizetta bianco with taleggio, potato and flowering thyme from The River Cafe. It’s not your bog standard slice (or price), but this double carb, mega cheesy pizza is a real beauty.
Thames Wharf, Rainville Rd, London W6 9HA
Galangal soft serve with plum & shiso shrub and speculoos crumb, doesn’t sound like it’s gonna work but it seriously does.
18-20 Bedford Hill, London SW12 9RG
The Mangalore bun and crab sukkha at Pali Hill is just one of the outstanding dishes on the menu, but oh boy is this one special.
79-81 Mortimer Street, London, W1W 7SJ
The chocolate crémeux, peanut parfait & honeycomb dessert at Rubedo was almost too beautiful to dig into, but destroy it we did.
