The super-hyped Taiwanese spot Din Tai Fung are finally opening their second restaurant in Selfridges. A second site was always in the works but unfortunately, Covid prevented the launch of the long-awaited Tottenham Court Road branch. Now after months of waiting, the OG spot in Covent Garden is finally getting a baby brother and at Selfridges no less. Famous for their highly-rated soup dumplings, it will be a welcome addition to the Selfridges restaurant roster.
Din Tai Fung will serve their iconic xiao long bao in a number of iterations including vegan mushroom, vegetarian, and pork nestled snugly next to knee-slapping starters like cucumber in spicy sauce, oriental salad with spicy vinegar dressing, and drunken chicken, and there’s a chance you might get your grub delivered to you by robot as the group is bringing serving robots to this branch. After a day running around Selfridges, a basket of hot soup dumplings is going to be exactly what you need.
