DETROIT PIZZA IS BRINGING DEEP PAN TO ISLINGTON

After years of Neapolitan-style pizzas dominating the city, Detroit is finally getting its time to shine

First it was slinging square slices in Battersea Park, then it moved eastwards to Spitalfields and now Detroit Pizza is heading for another part of the city. The second restaurant will be opening on Upper Street next to MEATLiquor, giving the people of Islington the chance to get a pizz’a this pie.

Detroit Pizza use authentic Detroit blue steel pans to bake their pizzas – that’s what gives the pies the soft and airy crust, crispy exterior and caramelised cheese edges. The toppings are no less impressive, with the likes of the New Forest (American cheese blend, cacio e pepe white sauce, mushrooms, baby potatoes, rosemary & parmesan), the Cadillac (American cheese blend, pepperoni, smoked bacon, banana peppers, honey, tomato sauce, parsley & parmesan) and the Bacon Double Cheeseburger (American cheese, Galloway beef, Canadian bacon, pickle, onion, sesame seeds & burger sauce) on the menu. Put your hands up for Detroit.
