DESIGN DISTRICT CANTEEN TO OPEN IN GREENWICH

It seems that food halls are having another moment in London – first JKS announce their revamp of Arcade Food Hall and now Design District Canteen is coming to Greenwich. The building, which looks more like the Eden Project with its transparent structure and tree canopy than somewhere to get lunch, will be opening in the heart of the Design District on the Greenwich Peninsula. As well as feeding hungry locals, the aim of Canteen is to help its food operators develop and grow, so the six resident traders have been chosen very carefully.

You’ll be able to get arepas from Guasa, rendang and satay from Eat Lah, stuffed focaccia sandwiches from Sugo, falafel and shawarma from Ehla, kati rolls from Raastawala, and wagyu salt beef sarnies from Toasted. The Canteen Bar will be pouring cocktails, wines and craft beer, including a house lager brewed just around the corner by Meantime Brewery. Greenwich isn’t blessed with loads of great places to eat so this one should be a hit.
