des mcdonald to open brera riverside

All-day Italian cafe, restaurant and wine bar Brera Riverside is opening in Canary Wharf after a big redevelopment from Des McDonald, who set up Holborn Dining Rooms amongst many others.

Executive Chef Andrea Cirino will take charge of the kitchen and given his previous experience at Locanda Locatelli, Zafferano and Massimo at the Corinthia, the cooking should be on point. The menu will showcase the best regional Italian produce, with coffee, charcuterie, cheeses, pastas and pastries available by day.

For dinners, the menu will feature dishes like herb crusted pork roast with pumpkin and buckwheat, grilled octopus with samphire and pomegranate, Brera tiramisu, and Amalfi lemon cake. Naturally there’ll be plenty of Italian bottles on the wine list and the cocktails will take inspiration from across the country, from the Alps to the beaches of Sicily. With all that, plus some epic riverside views this will be one well worth checking out.

In the mood for Italian food? Here’s where to get it.
