People of Wimbledon, there’s a new sushi spot in your ‘hood and it looks good. Oro Sushi is a new delivery-only brand from Aware Hospitality founder Alexandre Santamaria, ex-Zuma Global exec chef Anthony Garlando and entrepreneur Nick Yeatman, and it’s all about bringing you high-end Japanese food with an Aussie twist at home. The menu includes the likes of spicy bluefin tuna maki with chilli mayo, prawn nigiri with macadamia & tahoon pesto, prawn & ginger gyoza with rhubarb & Tasmanian pepper berry sauce, and nori crumbed lemon sole with crispy potato & black garlic mayo. There are plenty of options for plant-based peeps too with dishes like avocado & cucumber maki, mochi flat bread with Australian bush dukkah & whipped tofu, and fried cauliflower with XORO sauce & coconut tofu.
Oro Sushi is currently delivering to Wimbledon and SW18 but the team is looking to expand to other parts of the city, and they’re also prepping for the launch of DIY kits and bottled cocktails designed by mixologist Chris Grøtvedt, so those outside south west London will be able to get their fix soon.
