DAY OF THE DEAD AT SANTO REMEDIO

Tier 2 might be in full force but that doesn’t mean we’re gonna sit at home and do nothing when our hospitality industry is on its knees. One of our favourite celebrations is Day of the Dead and not just because it involves tequila! The traditional Mexican festival falls on the 1st November and involves paying tribute to loved ones who have passed away through their favourite food and drink.

This year Mexican joint Santo Remedio is hosting a three-day long celebration with an Ofrenda (vibrant alter) and special dishes like freshly baked Pan de Muerto, a classic sweet bread typically eaten on Day of the Dead, and a Mole Verde in honour of the owner’s grandfather. It wouldn’t be a Mexican celebration without cocktails and if you’re booked into Santo Remedio during Day of the Dead weekend you will receive a complimentary alcoholic Oaxacan hot chocolate to takeaway.

If you fancy joining in the celebrations, bookings are available all weekend and can be made for either Santo Remedio’s bottomless brunches or dinner.
