DAVID CARTER AND CHRIS LEACH TO LAUNCH RESIDENCY AT 10 HEDDON STREET
Smokestak is one of our favourite London restaurants – there’s nowhere better for BBQ in the city. So we’re excited to hear about its founder David Carter is launching a new restaurant residency in partnership with Chris Leach, who has worked at Kitty Fisher’s and Petersham Nurseries.
The pair are taking over 10 Heddon Street, the old Magpie site (we spotted Jason Atherton checking out the site a few weeks ago but looks like he turned it down) and in terms of style it will be much closer in line to Chris’ previous restaurants than Smokestak, focusing on Italian dishes made with British ingredients.
The daily changing menu will feature handmade pastas and in-house charcuterie with dishes including gazpacho with Cornish crab; fried ciccioli with apple ketchup; grilled peach salad with smoked almond and ricotta; rigatoni with pumpkin seed pesto and anchovy; tonnarelli with brown crab cacio e pepe; garganelli with spicy pig tail ragu; and cannolo with whipped ricotta, orange candied orange peel and salted caramelised hazelnuts.
Opens Thurs 18th July 2019
10 Heddon Street, London, W1B 4BX
