The team behind Gunpowder, Madame D and Gul & Sepoy is expanding to Tower Bridge with two new openings. The first is another, bigger Gunpowder, opening in September. Like the tiny original it won’t take reservations but at least with more tables, the queue won’t be TOO big. And more space also means more dishes; expect to see the likes of chicken lollipop Madras-style, masala peanut chaat, and Bengali fish fingers with crisps and kasundi on the Gunpowder 2.0 menu.
Following that will be Custard, opening on the ground floor of the site in October. The bakery and wine bar, inspired by the old coffee houses of Kolkata, will serve up treats like butter chicken puffs, Bombay sandwiches, Goan pork sausage rolls, Narangi custard tarts with pistachio meringues and almond cherry and ghee cakes alongside Ozone coffee.
Get in there first during the soft launch from 15th August – 1st September when Gunpowder will be doing 50% OFF food.
