Tom Vincent will be doing pizza by the slice at his new spot
Vincenzo’s in Bushey is doing some of the best pizza in the city (in the city that he himself said “might have the best pizza in the world”) turning out massive 18″, New York-style, thin and crispy pies. If you’ve not yet made it to the OG shop, there’s about to be more Vincenzo’s to go around as founder Tom Vincent is opening a slice shop in Shoreditch this November. The London pizza machine will not be stopped.
Like the Bushey pizzeria, the focus will be primarily on takeaway (though there will be a few seats for eating in) and it’ll have the same nostalgic interiors thanks to mid-century design and a mix of oil paintings and vintage artworks on the wall. Unlike Bushey, the Shoreditch spot will be doing slices, cut from whopping 20″ pies, to grab-and-go from 5pm till late, with whole 16″ pizzas available for takeaway too.
Tom’s focus on quality ingredients will carry through to Shoreditch, where the pizzas will be made with flour from Molino Casillo in Puglia, San Marzano tomatoes, and cheese from Latteria Sorrentina. The slices, starting from £5, will include flavours like margherita, pepperoni, tomato, spanakopita, vodka sauce, and burrata, with extras like hot honey and fresh pesto available.
Speaking about the Shoreditch opening, Tom Vincent said: “Pizza is simple: dough, sauce and cheese, but the slice shop is about more than that. It’s the smell, the art, the queue, the first bite. Shoreditch will carry the same nostalgia as Watford, but in a space that feels bigger, bolder, and built for London. We’re not chasing hype, we’re creating something timeless. A slice shop London can call its own.”
