A new sustainably-focused, produce and retail market, The White Building Market, is heading to Hackney Wick from the people behind CRATE Brewery and Silo this October. With some pretty sustainable creds between them, we reckon they know a thing or two about being environmentally-friendly. Open from Thursday to Sunday, the market will showcase artisanal producers and makers carefully selected for their approaches to sustainability. Retailers include Duchess Farms with their freshly-milled flour and smoked rapeseed oil; Potters Thumb, who will debut their “Glass Porcelain” plates made from crushed wine bottles that are used at Silo and CRATE (they are beaut!) and Fill Refill, who focus on low waste and refillable household goods.
