from their debut album ‘Soft Friday’, Midlands duo Coves have returned with their latest smokey rock kiss-off ‘Wake Up’. Written as a fiery two fingers up at an ex-lover, it is yet another fine example of why the band’s jagged psychedelic-pop has been attracting so much critical acclaim.

“It’s about my ex. It was me proving that ‘I am who I am and you’re just nothing to me anymore’,” lead singer Beck Wood explains. “ It was meant to be a strong song, especially for me, personally, to say ‘Look at me now’.”

‘Wake Up’ is out on the 28th July on Nettwerk Records, and their album is out now. Or if you’re really really keen, they’re also playing a number of UK festivals this year – just check the dates below.
