The lack of major Christmas markets this year has had a drastic impact on our mulled wine consumption, as in we’ve not had nearly enough. It’s a good thing then that Covent Garden has decided to put on a mulled wine festival. A whole host of restaurants and bars in the area, including Sushisamba, Frenchie, Balthazar and Ladurée, are serving up hot festive bevvies.
There’s also a mulled wine cart and three pop-up bars in the Piazza – a Dirty Martini apres-ski lodge serving spiced punch and hot toddies, a bar from The Oystermen pouring mulled vino and coffee cocktails; and mulled rosé from Mirabeau. Bring on the gluhwein.
