The team behind Bethnal Green’s French-inspired cocktail bar, Coupette, is moving further central
Though East London’s leading cocktail bar is still firmly rooted in East London, the team behind Coupette has announced that they’ll be branching out with a second site in Soho. The new cocktail bar, which’ll go by Atelier Coupette, will also be a ‘development hub for the brand’s French London style’, where they’ll be experimenting with regular test menus and encouraging guests to participate.
This is inspired by the Sunday Development Sessions that would take place at Coupette in Bethnal Green where customers could try the bar’s latest creations at £7 a cocktail, favourites would go on to appear on their innovative cocktail lists. With the same spirit of trying new things, the drinks at Atelier Coupette will be smaller, meaning that they’re also more affordable and to encourage sampling.
Expect to see a wide range of imaginative cocktails that come in all forms – on tap, frozen, sweet or savoury (such as the ‘Summer Truffle Negroni’). There’ll also be a menu of small plates inspired by French Nouvelle Cuisine, featuring a selection of simple, seasonal dishes with one word names (think FENNEL, RED MULLET, POUISSON, etc.). Londoners already enamored with the E2 site, this is very good news. Any of you who aren’t already on the Coupette hype, it sounds like you’re about to be.
