Cue Point is the Afghan-Texan BBQ spot bringing smoke and spice to West London
After a decade on the pop-up scene and festival circuit, Mursal Saiq and Joshua Moroney opened their first permanent Cue Point site this April at the Garden Bar in West London. The concept is built around low-and-slow barbecue but there’s more to this restaurant than live-fire cooking.
Mursal fled the Taliban with her family as a child and cooking is her way of preserving the Afghan culture, language and recipes she believes are under threat of being lost. As well as showcasing Afghan flavours and food shaped by migration and memory, Cue Point demonstrates Mursal and Josh’s inclusive approach to hospitality.
Halal, vegan and gluten-free options all built into the offering, meaning people from different backgrounds can sit at the same table and connect over food. Building on that celebration of integration and diversity, Cue Point also helps support refugees and asylum seekers with hospitality skills delivered through the restaurant’s social enterprise arm.
