You can stock up on produce, salads, pastries, merch and more
As well as being home to the likes of Ikoyi and Toklas, 180 the Thames has added opened another new foodie concept in the shape of Corner Shop. Opened by Nick Jones, and billed as a grocer, baker, cafe and wine bar, it’s actually a lot more than that. The shelves are stocked with products from the likes of Panzers, Neal’s Yard Dairy, Mateo Zielonka and Wimbledon Smokehouse, as well as juices, condiments and jams made in-house. You can get bread and baked goods from e5 Bakehouse and Populations Bakery; there’s an ice cream counter from Gelupo; a huge salad bar with rotisserie chicken; sandwiches under a tenner made from produce in the shop; and in the evenings it flips into a wine bar.
The Med-leaning dinner menu, which looks to be changing weekly, includes dishes like:
- salame rossa and panisse
- gazpacho
- nectarine, hazelnut and Ticklemore salad
- chickpeas and roast pepper with aioli
- verdura mista with pangratato and olives
- casarecce with beans and pesto
- rotisserie chicken Caeser
- apricot, raspberry and cherry clafoutis
Corner Shop also has a partnership with British flower company Sorelle, so you’ll be able pick up the best seasonal blooms, with the selection changing weekly. With a new rooftop restaurant at the hotel above in development (with a big name chef in the kitchen), there’s plenty more still to come….
