COOK UP AN IRISH BEEF BANQUET WITH ANGLOTHAI AT HOME

During original lockdown AngloThai, the restaurant concept run by husband and wife team John and Desiree Chantarasak, released a limited edition Hot Dog home kit so you could grill up some Thai-style dogs on your BBQ. Now they’re back with HG Walter and Newcomer Wines for another at-home box for lockdown 2.0 and this time they’ve got beef….grass-fed Irish beef to be exact.

The AngloThai At Home: Irish Beef Banquet Box is inspired by the pair’s sold-out summer residency at Dalston’s Newcomer Wines this summer where John cooked with grass-fed Irish beef. He’s using it again in this box because Ireland’s lush green grass is full of clover and herbs, which gives the beef the most amazing flavour and deep marbling.

The banquet box includes a 950g grass-fed Irish T-bone steak, aged for 35-days in the HG Walter salt chambers; two beef bone marrow with beef fat umami crumb; tamarind & roasted chilli ‘jaew’ dipping sauce; som tam veggies (white cabbage, heritage carrot, vine tomato) & som tam dressing; toasted seed mix; new crop jasmine rice; and a bottle of Blaufränkisch ‘Bela Joska’ 2017, selected by Desiree from Newcomer Wines. YUM. It’s £100 for the box and they feed two hungry people.

John and Desiree have also created step-by-step videos on how to bring the meal together, which you can access via the box’s QR code. Desiree’s also put tasting notes for the wine in there too, so you can have a go at playing both chef and sommelier.

These boxes are strictly limited edition and will only be available for delivery within the M25 for two weeks: 9th – 17th November for delivery on 20th November and 17th – 24th November for delivery on 27th November.

Available to order from Mon 9th November 2020.
