For obvious reasons, there are lots of live cooking demonstrations cropping up at the moment. We even have our own series of live Instagram cook alongs which started on Monday with Great British Bake Off contestant Manon Lagreve, and is continuing with Alexandra Dudley and John Gregory Smith up next. Another that’s caught our eye is live streamed pasta making classes with 84 year old Nonna Nerina, all the way from Italy.
She normally runs workshops in person but has now switched to online, as she had to cancel all her classes. The courses cost $50 for two hours on a date and time that you choose – Nonna herself only does classes on Saturdays and Sundays but her granddaughter runs classes on other days of the week.
A week before your class you’ll be given a list of ingredients and equipment to get ahead of time and then you’ll be good to go. It’s nothing too complicated, so you shouldn’t have to spend loads more before you’re good to go. Dishes you might be learning include fettuccine, lasagne, and cannelloni and they’ll even send suggested wine pairings too. With the help of a genuine Italian Nonna, you’ll be a pasta pro in no time – Mama mia!
