It’s taking over the Cheese Bar site in Camden Market
Pick & Cheese, the world’s first conveyor belt restaurant where diners pick plates of different British cheeses and paired condiments, has been a big hit over in Seven Dials Market. So much so that as well as opening an offshoot of it in Berlin, founder Mathew Carver is also taking it to Camden. After starting his cheese empire with The Cheese Truck in 2014, Carver opened the standalone cheese-focused spot The Cheese Bar in Camden Market in 2017 and it’s this site that he’s flipping into the second London Pick & Cheese location. As well as the original Pick & Cheese in Covent Garden, Carver also operates the floating Cheese Barge in Paddington.
The Camden Pick & Cheese will have an 18-metre-long conveyor belt transporting over 25 different plates, like Cornish Yarg with pea & mint pesto, Cropwell Bishop Stilton with kimchi and Cenarth Brie with tomato & chilli jam, around the restaurant. You’ll also be able to order off-belt cheese toasties, including Chedder, Ogleshield & onion and La Latteria mozzarella & hot honey, and finish with scoops of Rosary goat’s cheese gelato with honey and rosemary.
The same bottomless offer that runs in Seven Dials on Wednesdays – as many cheese and charcuterie plates from the belt as you like for an hour and 15 mins for £29.50 per person – is also making the move north.
