CODE HOSPITALITY ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF ITS HOSPITALITY’S WOMEN OF THE YEAR LIST

2023 is the fifth year that CODE Hospitality has celebrated the unsung female champions of the industry

Each year CODE Hospitality does its bit to recognise and rebalance the gender gap that exists in the hospitality industry by championing the women, working across a range of careers from cheffing to broadcasting, who are the driving force behind change and innovation in the biz. This year they received over 500 nominations for the categories of Campaigners, Disruptors, Connectors, and Leaders, a number that was whittled down to 83 incredible women for the 2023 list.

Winners for each of the categories were selected at an awards ceremony in Central London, including our very own Jules Pearson as Disruptor of the Year; founder of Curious Vines, Queena Wong, as Connector of the Year; Head of Sourcing & Development at Super 8, SongSoo Kim, as Campaigner of the Year; and founder & CEO of mymuybueno, Justine Murphy, as Leader of the Year. Woman of the Year was awarded to restaurateur Samyukta Nair, with cookbook author and MW Eat Director Camellia Panjabi receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Adam Hyman, founder of CODE Hospitality, had this to say about the awards: We are thrilled to reveal the winners of the CODE Hospitality’s Women of the Year list for 2023. This year has been all about championing the unsung female heroes of our industry. All of the women in this year’s list often do not get the recognition for what they do. The list is a reminder of the amazing things that they are doing every day, and the meaningful change and impact they have on the hospitality industry.” Here’s to even more women being given the spotlight they deserve in 2024!
