CLASSICAL PRIDE AT THE BARBICAN

Europe’s first-ever Classical Pride concert will be held at the Barbican this July to highlight and celebrate the huge contribution made by the LGBTQ+ community to classical music. Presented by broadcaster and DJ Nick Grimshaw, the evening will showcase some of the biggest artists from international opera and concert stages. Expect to see the likes of Pavel Kolesnikov, Samson Tsoy, Davóne Tines, Nicky Spence and Ella Taylor, as well as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (who’ll be joined by an LGBTQ+ community choir) performing the works of Tchaikovsky, Poulenc, Bernstein, Caroline Shaw and more. The concert will close with an arrangement of Renaissance, the already iconic theme of The White Lotus season two and all proceeds from the event will go toward supporting LGBTQ+ charities Terrence, Higgins Trust, Amplifund and Rainbow Railroad.
