life hands you lemons, you’re supposed to make lemonade. But what about when life hands you a jar of Marmite? If you’re anything like us, you’ll ask for the lemons back since you were already halfway through making a gin and tonic. But if you’re Indian culinary mastermind Vivek Singh, you’ll whip up a chilli and peanut crusted chicken breast with a Marmite korma sauce.

The Cinnamon family restaurateur and experimental food genius has teamed up with Marmite to create a menu infused with the nation’s most beloved spread. And trust us, it’s Marmite-ificent.

The familiar tangy flavour was strongest in the Stir fried shrimp with Marmite and pepper sauce. But it was the Sea bream with Marmite, kokum and curry leaf crust and Marmite coconut sauce where the spread really shone, making us wonder why it has taken so long for someone to discover this combo.


The aforementioned chicken with korma sauce MUST be ordered with the Marmite naan bread with honey, chilli and garlic since you will want to mop up every last drop with the sweet bready goodness. And lest we forget the Marmite chocolate and cardamom mousse which needs to be tasted to be believed.

The menu is available at Cinnamon Soho until February and can be ordered alongside the dishes that already make you swoon, so you can have the best of both worlds! Whether you sit in the ‘love it’ or ‘hate it’ camp, it would be unpatriotic not to try it. Because all jokes aside, it’s A-Marmite-azing.
