CINNAMON BUN MAKING AT EKTE
Bloomberg Arcade, the pedestrianised boulevard that runs through Bloomberg’s European HQ, has become a hotspot for food and culture in the Square Mile, thanks to a programme of concerts, screenings and public art installations and its collection of independent restaurants. Bloomberg Arcade is home to a host of global cuisines ranging from US-inspired burgers, Japanese noodles and Indian BBQ, to name but a few. Now thanks to a series of spring masterclasses, you can roll up your sleeves, don your chef’s hat and explore some of the restaurants like never before.
As the name suggests, Ekte Nordic Kitchen showcases the exciting flavours of the Nordic region, with dishes like spiced herring and potato salad, meatballs with mash and gravy, and spiced honey cake with preserved cherries filling the menu. As part of the masterclass, you’ll be able to try your hand at some Scandi baking with this cinnamon bun making experience. The chef will demonstrate the dough making process before you get to roll, shape and finish your own buns before they go in the oven (as the dough takes four hours to rise, you’ll be using pre-prepared batches).
While you wait for the buns to bake, you’ll get to tuck into some Ekte smorrebrod open sandwiches and aquavit. Your creations will then be ready for you to take home….if you can wait that long to eat them that is!
Tickets are priced at £30 per person, including the masterclass with two buns to takeaway, tea/coffee on arrival, two smorrebrods, and a shot of aquavit.
