Cineworld is expanding its O2 Greenwich site, going from 11 to 19 screens with a capacity of more than 4500, making it the largest cinema in London. Not only does the cinema already have Superscreen (multidimensional sound and state-of-the-art projection) and ScreenX (where the projection spans out to the side for a 270-degree viewing experience), the additional screens will offer VIP and 4DX experiences.
If you go VIP, you get a nice reclining chair and unlimited cinema snacks as well as use of a private lounge. 4DX is a bit more full-on, using motion seats and special effects including wind, snow, fog, lightning and water to enhance the action on screen – yeah it’s a long way from wearing a pair of those crap 3D glasses – and it’s opening at Greenwich just in time for Avengers: Endgame.
