After being forced to close their Islington restaurant after both a fire and a squatter takeover, the Chinese Laundry team have found a new home – at least for the immediate future. They’ve taken up residency at Finsbury Park pub The Mountgrove Bothy, doing dinner service from Thursday – Saturday until March 2019.
The menu changes regularly but you can expect dishes like grandma’s wind-dried pork sausage; pork and squid dumplings with braised sweetcorn; whole seabass with our sauce and orange; mapo clams with aubergine; and tomato, kaki and drunken rice. If you never got the chance to experience the original Chinese Laundry, you’ll wanna go and check this residency out, and if you did eat at the original restaurant, well you’ll be very pleased it’s back.
