Not only do new chicken brands come along at the same time, their pop-ups do too. Both Sidechick (the bit on the side from Patty & Bun) and Royale (from the Leroy team), which were launched as delivery services during lockdown are going IRL with a supper club and a pop-up. Sidechick is taking over Allpress is Dalston on 20th and 27th August, with a set menu of chicken marinaded in either za’atar, piri piri or soy & ginger; sides like crispy potatoes with leek mayo, aubergine with smoky tomato compote and romaine lettuce with Calabrian chilli dressing; and St John wine and Forest Road Brewery beers. Royale is popping up at East London Liquor Co. in Bow Wharf Fridays – Sundays, with a menu of corn-fed rotisserie chicken cooked on a vintage Rotisol, potatoes and salad, alongside Uncharted Wines and cocktails from ELLCo. CLUCK YEAH.
