Checking Out Co-Working Salon Stā Studios

We all know about co-working for offices, but what about co-working for salons?

That’s exactly what hairdresser Samantha Cusick (who has two standalone salons in Notting Hill and Fitzrovia and over a decade working with big hair brands) is doing with Stā Studios in the City. It’s a cool set-up; not only does the space look the part with exposed brick and fixtures, chic styling stations, a coffee and cocktail bar, and even a podcast studio, the membership system gives freelance stylists a place to call home, a booking system to maintain their client list and access to regular events to build a sense of community.

In addition to the freelancers that use the space, Stā Studios is also home to a core team of Samantha Cusick staff, including stylist Raine, who gave me lots of helpful tips on diffuser blow drying and different colour methods and also saw to much-neglected mop. After a hair wash and superb head massage, she lopped off a decent couple of inches to get rid of any split ends and help bring fullness to the length of my hair, added extra shine with Olaplex and Redken products, and created a bouncy blowout that even survived the less-than-optimal weather on the way home.

If you’re looking to switch up stylists and try something new then Stā Studios is well worth checking out – and it couldn’t be in a more convenient spot for all you City workers too.
