The second hotel in The Hoxton series opened in Holborn in 2014. Like the original, the hotel’s ground floor is a hive of activity from breakfast through to dinner, a place you actually do get to hang out alongside locals. Upstairs there’s 174 rooms, which come in four different categories, the smallest of which is the Shoebox and perfect for use as a crash pad.
Like the name suggests it’s small, that said if you’re out exploring and you just need a clean, comfy room it’s perfect, even for two people, and it’s well priced. If you do need space for luggage check out the Roomy rooms. Be warned though, all rooms have black-out curtains and super comfy beds so be sure to double set your alarm…
Therooms come with the usual Hox perks – one hour of free phone calls worldwide, super fast free WiFi, a breakfast bag filled with snacks and a fridge with free water, fresh milk and all other mini-bar items available to purchase from the lobby shop at supermarket prices. In your face £5 cans of coke.
Downstairs there’s decent food freshly baked goodies and cocktails, Cheeky nail salon dishes out pedis and manis, Holborn Grind has got hipster coffee, snacks and late night cocktails down to a T and Chicken Shop is cluckin’ great for lunch or dinner.
With a central location, good value rooms and a destination restaurant and bar, The Hoxton, Holborn ticks all our boxes. Rates from £89.
