Hotel Gran Calderon is part of the NH Collection group, a Spanish hotel chain that spans the world with over 370 hotels in 28 countries. Given its roots, the NH Collection group are very present in Barcelona with eight properties across the city in total. We chose to stay at their luxe Hotel Gran Calderon during our trip to the city.
The five-star hotel has a prime location – situated in the Eixample neighbourhood it’s surrounded by bars and restaurants and only a 10-minute walk to tourist destination Las Ramblas and hip neighbourhood Gracias. If you’re a fan of art history and want to do some sightseeing, some of the cities top art destinations are just around the corner including Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Batllo and Casa Mila (La Pedrera).
The rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you could possibly need. We were lucky enough to stay in one of the hotel Gran Calderon’s suites. These definitely don’t disappoint in size, covering 40m squared they are huge and sleep up to three guests. Inside you can find a comfy king sized bed, two 50-inch LED TVs and two large bathrooms – you never know when you might be caught short.
