CHALIDA OPENS IN CHINATOWN

There’s been lots of development in Chinatown recently; not only are completely new restaurants opening in the Central Cross development but existing places are launching new concepts, and the latter is exactly what’s happened at Chalida.

Formerly Hot Pot, the Wardour Street restaurant has now relaunched as a Thai restaurant. Inspired by founder Jerry Taechaubol’s grandmother, a Chinese immigrant who ran a hawker stall on Bangkok’s Yaowarat Road, and named after his mother, Chalida is a homage to his Thai heritage.

It’s the first restaurant in Chinatown to offer authentic, home-style Thai food, with the menu including everything from village curries to claypot noodles to larb to tom yum soups. And if you were a fan of the hot pot from the previous restaurant, you’re in luck because they’ve stuck around too.
