Turns out, the alcohol industry is quite lucrative
Yes there’s quite the list of celebs that have ventured into the alcohol space and launched their own booze brands. Given they already have the huge following and avid fan base, and that LVMH be buying up brands for big dollars who can blame ’em. See below our round up of some of the most interesting and surprising celebrity brands on the market to add to your shopping list. Question is….does an alcohol attached to an A-lister taste any sweeter?
Carla Bruni’s Roseblood
Château d’Estoublon in Provence, co-owned by Carla Bruni and Nicholas Sarkozy (along with two other families) since 2020, got into the rosé game in 2021 with the first release of Roseblood. Now alongside the 2023 vintage, there’s a new Roseblood White, made from rolle grapes, on offer too. If it’s good enough for presidents….
Dre and Snoop’s Gin & Juice
‘Gin & Juice’ isn’t just a song anymore, it’s a real life drink. Yes Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg have brought their hit to life in the form of ready-to-drink cocktails. The cans come in four flavours – apricot, melon, citrus and passion fruit – and are all made with real fruit juice and light gin base. And they might just have the best looking cans in the biz.
Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila
Predicted to soon be one of the most popular spirits globally, the tequila category is certainly on the rise, which is why there’s no surprise celebs, like model and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner, are investing in it. And it seems to have paid off, with 818 winning a slew of taste awards, so even if you’re not a Kardashian fan, you might be one of this tequila.
Dan Aykroyd’s Crystal Head Vodka
Ghostbusters actor and blues legend Dan Aykroyd was way ahead of the game, launching his vodka brand back in 2007. You may be a familiar the vodka, having spotted its iconic skull shaped bottle behind bars or at house parties over the years. Being a true Canadian, Dan’s brand Crystal Head Vodka is made with Newfoundland water and distilled through crystals – boujee. Over a decade later and there’s quite the collection of different Crystal Head Vodka bottles to stock up on.
Idris Elba’s Porte Noir Champagne
Considering he was up for the role of Bond at one point, launching a champagne brand seems to be quite fitting for Idris Elba. Porte Noir champagne was released late 2020 and is a Blanc de Blancs vintage 2010 Grand Cru, 100% Chardonnay made from the vineyards of the Sanger school. Idris supposedly fell in love with the story and wanted to share it with us too – how kind. Champagne not your thing? He also has a Porte Noir Rosé which is just as luxe.
Cara Delevingne’s Della Vite Prosecco
Keeping it in the family, Cara Delevingne has partnered with her older sisters Poppy and Chloe to release Della Vite prosecco. Translating to ‘from the vine’, Della Vite is created beneath the Dolomite mountains in Italy’s Prosecco region and UNESCO World Heritage site. This prosecco is fermented for an extra 30 days and ticks all the boxes being both sustainable and vegan, meaning you can enjoy it guilt free, so grab your sisters and pop a bottle.
Ryan Reynolds’s Aviation Gin
Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds was on to a winner with his brand Aviation Gin, after selling the business to global drinks company Diageo for a whopping £460 million deal in 2020. Although he cashed in, Ryan still seems to be heavily involved in his brand, not only being the face of it in commercials but also heading up marketing campaigns too. Given the UK’s gin craze isn’t dying down anytime soon, we predict Aviation will still be flying high for some time.
Aaron Paul & Bryan Cranston’s Dos Hombres Mezcal
The Breaking Bad duo have hung up their yellow hazmat suits and left the crystal meth lab behind for their joint venture, mezcal brand Dos Hombres. Focusing on craft and flavour, Dos Hombres is created on the hillside of a small village in the Oaxaca mountains using high quality Espadin agave. As much as we love this in a smokey marg, we can’t help but wish they’d launched a spin-off of Breaking Bad’s famous fried chicken joint Los Pollos Hermanos – who’s with us?
Kylie Minogue’s Wine
We just can’t get this Kylie Minogue rosé out of our heads. Jokes aside, pop sensation Kylie has launched her own range of French wines. The rosés, including a Cotes du Provence and a prosecco, are crisp, pale and ideal for all those long summer evenings, but she also has a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to her name. We just can’t guarantee you won’t be ‘spinning around’ after having one too many glasses…
Jay Z ‘s Ace of Spades Champagne
If you’re a baller and like the finer things in life (who doesn’t?) then no doubt you’ll be familiar with Jay Z’s champagne brand Armand de Brignac aka Ace of Spades. Costing around £300 a pop, the garish gold bottle will certainly get you noticed in the club. The liquid inside must be pretty decent too, with drinks giants LVMH investing in 50% of the business – impressive. We may have 99 problems, but thankfully our choice in champers ain’t one..
