Football’s staying home! After dramatically holding onto their UEFA Women’s Euro title by beating Spain in the final – on penalties no less – the Lionesses are celebrating their back-to-back tournament wins with a victory parade in central London on Tues 29th July. The team, along with manager Sarina Wiegman, will be taking an open-top bus tour along the Mall, starting around 12.10pm and finishing with a staged ceremony at the Queen Victoria Memorial in front of Buckingham Palace at around 12.30pm.
Alex Scott will be hosting the event at the Queen Victoria Memorial, which’ll feature music from the Band of His Majesty’s Royal Marines Portsmouth and the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, tournament highlights shown on a big screen, and a special trophy lift presentation. It’s FREE to attend (it’s likely to be very busy in town so plan your routes accordingly) but it’s also being broadcast on TV if you can’t make it down in person.
