We’re coming up to midsummer, the celebration of nature, life and light that’s a huge deal in Scandinavia
It’s believed that nature gains magical powers on the holiday so Nordic restaurant Ekte and Nuet Aquavit are teaming up to bring a bit of that Scandi magic to London. At the two-day Midsommar party at Ekte, you’ll be able to feast, sing, dance, drink, wear flowers in your hair and have a load of fun.
It all kicks off on the evening of Fri 23rd June with pre-dinner Nuet spritzes and flower crown making before you tuck into a Scandi buffet dinner, which includes the likes of gravadlax with mustard sauce, Swedish cheese pie, Ekte’s Frikadeller – literally the best Danish meatballs this side of Copenhagen, potato gratin, beetroot salad and vanilla ice cream with strawberry, with a DJ providing the soundtrack to sing and dance along to.
The celebrations start slightly earlier the following day, with a Scandi bottomless brunch running from 12pm – 4pm. You can book in for two hours of bottomless prosecco and a brunch buffet featuring herring, gravadlax, eggs & sourdough, mini sausages, Ekte’s Frikadeller, potato gratin, beetroot salad, and vanilla ice cream with strawberry. And you can make and model your very own flower crown during your brunch, with instructions on how to do so on the tables, and a DJ will be spinning during the afternoon too.
Things finish off on the Saturday night with another Midsommar party with welcome drinks from Nuet, flower crown making, a Scandi buffet dinner and a DJ, plus live music from an ABBA band to see out the celebrations in true Scandi style.
The evening parties on the Friday and Saturday cost £40 per person, with the bottomless brunch on Saturday afternoon coming in at £60 per person, so however you want to celebrate Midsommar, you can book in below.
