Denmark Street Sessions, a free event featuring live performances, talks and exhibitions, is taking over London’s most famous music street (where Bowie became Ziggy Stardust, where The Sex Pistols lived and where the Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath recorded their first albums) this weekend.
Venues like Chateau Denmark, Regent Sounds, Farsight Gallery, Sixty Ink, Dawson’s, Hank’s and No.Tom will be getting involved, hosting both emerging talent and established names. The likes of Jay Mehler, DJ Amazonica, Jim Brickman, Doom Club, Hot Property, and Marc Hayward will be performing, with a headline set from west London musician Lava La Rue; author Stef Macbeth and journalist Emma Warren will be doing a Q&A; photographer Yushy will be exhibiting images documenting underground London raves; jewellery designer Hannah Martin and tailor Sir Tom Baker will be speaking; Sixty Ink will be doing music-inspired flash tattoos; and more.
