carte blanche to open in hackney

Le Bun co-founder Andy Taylor is opening a new restaurant in Hackney and he’s going way beyond burgers. Carte Blanche, opening on Mare Street in July, will feature a mash-up of Southern, Midwestern American, and French flavours, meaning dishes like oysters with caviar hollandaise and maple bacon; foie gras and escargot tostadas; Nashville hot chicken; and pork jowl with smoked beets and blood orange. You can wash all that down with natural wine or a revamped classic cocktail like a French negroni or a beurre noisette whisky sour. The restaurant itself will be as relaxed as the approach to the food with stripped-back interiors, an open kitchen and a bar where you can snack on small plates. Sounds like it’s gonna be an interesting addition to the hood.

And if you could get your hands on FREE fried chicken and caviar if you’re one of the first 100 diners at Carte Blanche on opening night.

Opens Fri 13th July 2018
175 Mare St, London, E8 3RH
