Tasked St Lucia and Tobago, Day 2 started bright and early with a segway ride around Rodney Bay and a small mountain. On the mountain we saw the actual tree that inspired the tree of life in Avatar (the dread lock tree they call it), ate some of the local fruits, explored some war bunkers and had a free fish pedicure in the mountain pond.by British Airways and Time Out to spend 5 days getting to know
Time to head South we took a boat to Jade Mountain, a seriously swish resort where every room has an infinity pool. The dive school here was the first on the island and it has some of the best snorkelling around too. Nemo found, we headed to Hotel Chocolat where we checked out the cocoa cocktails alongside a selection of nibbles all containing some cocoa and some of the choccy too – when in Rome!
A trek up Paul Tet for some views of the Pitons and we were ready to check into Sugar Beach. In fact we think we were born ready to check into Sugar Beach. A stunning retreat where every room has a plunge pool, private balcony which leads to the beach with hammock, free standing tub, mobile phone with butler on speed dial and everything else you always wanted but never had. They’d even spelt out Welcome in flowers on our table…Does it get any closer to paradise? We think not.
Check out came around too early and the next thing we knew we were up a tree racing across a very, very big drop along a zip wire before we departed for the second half of our trip in Tobago…
