CAPRICE HOLDINGS TO OPEN A RESTAURANT AT THE THEATRE ROYAL DRURY LANE

The Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Covent Garden is undergoing a major refurbishment and as part of the makeover, Andrew Lloyd Webber is teaming up with Richard Caring and Caprice Holdings (who run the likes of The Ivy, Sexy Fish, Scott’s and Brasserie of Light) to open a restaurant and bar. Lloyd Webber has form in this area, as he drafted in the team behind Naughty Piglets in Brixton to open the Other Naughty Piglets at The Other Palace theatre in Victoria.

Details for the new place are thin on the ground at the moment – all we know is that it’ll be in a building next door to the theatre and will be serving lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Given the way Caring’s other restaurants are designed, we’re expecting this one to look rather special inside too. As Andrew Lloyd Webber has said, “Richard is a brilliant restaurateur and showman, both of which are essential to ensuring the theatre will continue to be a vibrant part of Covent Garden life. He is behind many of the countries most loved and entertaining restaurants, making it a perfect match to our ambitious project at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.”

It’s a while off opening so we’ll bring you more info when we have it.
