Cabinets of Death at The Last Tuesday Society

This month, instead of Dry January, Bombas & Parr have teamed up with The Last Tuesday Society to celebrate ‘Cry January’, the UK’s first ‘Cabaret of Death’ since 1954. The programme of events has been inspired by Cabarets of Death, a new book from Strange Attractor Press – authored by Mel Gordon and edited by Joanna Ebenstein – which explores the afterlife-focused cabarets that emerged in Paris during the late 19th century and influenced a wave of similar venues in cities such as New York, Berlin, and Brussels.

Things will kick off on Mon 15th January with a talk from visual artist Eleanor Crook to launch the Cabinets of Death exhibition which will be open to the public from Tues 16th January until Sun 18th February. There’ll also be a matching Cabinets of Death cocktail menu running throughout the month before the launch party for the Cabarets of Death book on Wed 31st January.
