As you’ll have seen on the news and felt in your wallets, we’re in the midst of a cost-of-living crisis, so Gumtree, the home of secondhand goods, is here to help lighten the load with a freebies pop-up. Gumfree, opening in Shoreditch for one day only, will be an IRL version of the website’s freebies section, so it’ll be packed with a whole range of pre-loved items for your home, garden, wardrobe and more. Best of all, it’s totally FREE – you’ll be given one token on the door which you can exchange at the till for an item of your choice.
The shop will be split up into four sections: Garden Party, with all the chairs, table dressings, parasols and lanterns you could need for al fresco fun; Outgrown, with house plants, wicker baskets, gardening equipment and more green-fingered gear; Laze By The Beach, with books, sunnies, buckets & spades, beach towels and other summer holiday essentials; and Rainy Daze, with puzzles, umbrellas, cards, board games, wellies and everything you need to survive the Great British weather. Icon Charity Shop Sue has also donated an exclusively curated bundle of goodies, which’ll be revealed on the day, and TV presenter Angellica Bell will also be on hand in the afternoon to showcase her top product picks and sharing advice on how to be savvy with your shopping to save money.
The freebies don’t stop there either as you’ll also be able to have a roll on the tombola and be in with the chance of bagging cash prizes, so if you like the idea of a shopping trip where you don’t spend any money, get down to Gumtree’s Gumfree pop-up.
