Swirling 60s inspired psychedelic vibes is the mood for Polish musician Brodka’s latest track ‘Up In The Hill’. We’re all eyes (and ears) as this theme drifts into a truly trippy studio performance. It’s a coming together of kaleidoscopic ideas, from it’s whistling and googly-eyes to vintage organ and totally far out guitar. Where other artists make this sort of thing look pastiche, Monika Brodka effortlessly makes it seem fresh, vibrant and fun.
Whilst she’s new to us, back in her native Poland she already has release three critically acclaimed and successful albums, with Clashes (the album this track is taken from) being her first album singing in English. It’s a real gem of the year, filled with a sort of orchestra shimmering intelligent pop, one to definitely go and check out if you haven’t already.
