If you’re dreaming of running your own food business, applications for Mercato Metropolitano’s ‘dreaMM campaign’ are open
Mercato Metropolitano, the food and community marketplace with sites in Elephant & Castle, Mayfair and Canary Wharf (plus Ilford opening this summer), is offering aspiring food entrepreneurs the ultimate business kickstart – a three-month rent-free tenure at one of its markets.
Mercato Metropolitano is more than just a food market, it’s a MMovement that’s all about creating community through food and building a sustainable and inclusive future for people and the planet, and the ‘dreaMM campaign’ is central to this. Created in response to the cost-of-living crisis and the strain that it’s putting on new business ventures, Mercato Metropolitano is hoping that this rent-free opportunity will support new talent and help a local entrepreneur turn their dream into a successful business.
As well as securing the rent-tenure at one of the MM markets, the successful ‘dreaMMer’ will also receive free one-to-one consultations with the MM team, covering everything from creating a business plans to sourcing sustainable ingredients to branding and marketing advice; support from one of the current traders at the markets; and financial support to help cover the costs associated with setting up at the market.
If you’ve got a foodie business that you’d love to get off the ground, you can apply for the ‘dreaMM campaign’ by answering a few key questions and you’ll need to get those submissions in by Tues 30th May. Shortlisted entries will then be invited to pitch their concepts to a panel at the dreaMM pitch day on Thurs 15th June, before a final winner is selected, so get those applications in below!
