BrewDog is a fresh, modern brewery shaking up the world of commercial beverages by creating good old fashioned ales and giving them an exciting kick into the 21st century. The independent Scottish brewery certainly has its own way of doing things and has created a brilliant concept and identity with names like Punk IPA and Trashy Blonde. Not only have they previously served beer in road kill, they have also brewed the strongest strength beer in the UK and hold the record for the strongest beer on the planet. WOWZA!! Now the company have headed South and opened a brand new bar in the heart of Camden.
Just off the main drag, the pub itself is an industrial-style space with a beer cellar downstairs featuring secluded seating, private vaults and a wide bottle selection. If you like your ales oaky, dense and full of difference aromatic flavours you will certainly be in for a treat at Brew Dog. When we visited they had a HUGE selection of draft and bottles including the strongest beer in the UK named ‘Tokyo’ served in a half, be warned though this comes in at around the 18% mark – four halves in and things could get messy!
Food comes in the form of burgers and pizzas with a menu created by 2011 BBC Masterchef winner Tim Anderson – great for soaking up the booze if you feel yourself sliding. We have a sneaking suspicion this is going to be one popular bar!
