to get a table in Taberna do Mercado to try Nuno’s (of Chiltern Firehouse and Viajante fame) new joint? Then lucky for you the have launched a new breakfast menu and it includes some dishes to takeaway too, so even if there’s no tables up for grabs you can enjoy it at your desk.

The menu features some very gooey Pastel de Nata (it’s a Portuguese restaurant, it’d be rude not to!), Bola de Berlin which are small, light donuts filled with a custardy sauce and Folar de Carnes which is basically a loaf of freshly baked bread filled with cured meats. It’s insane.

There’s a roast pork sandwich which has a rich sauce inside made with pork fat, Torrada which is simply a slice of loaf bread toasted and smothered in açores butter and Palmier, a sweet puff pastry. It’s pretty reasonably priced with everything around 3 pound but even if you do save a few pounds on breakfast eating here everyday, with dishes like these those pounds will go STRAIGHT to your hips. But hey, we’re all for indulgence every now and then, ESPECIALLY when it tastes like this.
