Italian wine bar BOTTLES has been a hit in Old Spitalfields Market and now it’s heading west, opening in Chelsea this November. The new space will be lighter and brighter, with a glass front, timber wine wall and a copper-topped bar with a glass cheese and meat display. The wine list will feature a mix of styles and regions, with a focus on micro-producers making natural, biodynamic and organic wines, and there’ll also be an American bar for those who’d rather a cocktail.
There’ll be an Italian-inspired menu to go with all that vino, with dishes including arancino ‘beccafico’ with wild fennel and seafood; Sicilian chorizo hot dog with sauerkraut and mint mayo; paccheri with langoustine, mushrooms and smoked butter; and espresso-glazed ribeye steak. We’ll drink to that.
