An exciting year and what can only mean an even more diverse turn in modern music. We start with the psychedelic folktronica sounds in the North West, Liverpool. Lo-fi DIY pop is drenched in mystical harmonies, medieval style beats and blended with a 60-esque hippy vide to make beautiful and hypnotic music. Our first band of the month will leave you feeling magical. Guys and gals, we give you Stealing Sheep…

US: Tell us what makes up your sound and where you draw your influences from?

Rebecca: We play synths, guitars and boomy drums…We draw our sound from nature, films and feelings. We want to create atmospheres and for our music to be very visual…As individuals we all listen to very different music from each other which makes for a very eclectic sound so the listener can probably here many different influences coming from each of us..Such as; Broadcast, Can, Dutch Uncles, The Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane…

US: Your Ep got us moving, whats your next release?

Rebecca: Our next release will be in February, it will be the first single taken from our debut album which will be out just before the Summer.

US: We put you down as one of the ‘ones to watch’ for 2012 in our best of 2011 feature, but what bands have been getting you in the mood over the past 12 months and who are your tips for the New Year?

Rebecca: Dutch Uncles, All We Are, Twin Sister, Outfit, Dan Croll, King Twit, Its Murder Beams, Pengilly’s, Amusement, The Long Finger Bandits, The Left Hand, are some of the people we have been digging lately…

US: What/where do you like to go/do in London Town?

Rebecca: We like going Vintage shopping on Brick Lane, the National History Museum, The Tate, we recently went to see the new Pipilotti Rist Exhibition at The Hayword, Richmond Park to see the deer and the parrots and also we like going to see Emily’s family…

US: Have you made a New Years resolutions?

Rebecca: Be healthier….As usual! For the sheep to be super productive and write a hit!

US: What are you looking forward to Stealing Sheep achieving in 2012?

Rebecca: Getting our album out, going on tour with Field Music, the festivals and going back to Europe for another tour…
