BONG BONG’S MANILA KANTEEN TO OPEN IN BETHNAL GREEN

They’ve gone from street food traders to Million Pound Menu winners to pop-ups across town, and now Lee Johnson and Sinead Campbell of BBQ Dreamz are opening their first restaurant, Bong Bong’s Manila Kanteen. The Bethnal Green site will feature a mix of BBQ Dreamz’s classics, like satay duck heart skewers and that signature lechon kawali, plus new dishes like fried adobo chicken with banana ketchup and paz batchoi, a pork and liver noodle broth.

On Sundays, the restaurant will host kamayan, a sharing feast where you eat with your hands, with steamed rice, taro & coconut milk laing, lemongrass prawn & pork skewers and more all piled onto banana leaves. You’ll be able to pair all that with Red Horse beer, Don Papa rum and Tarsier Boracay gin cocktails. And if you head down from 7th – 10th November, you can bag 50% OFF food.
