We liked the idea of it being gory, weird and unnerving.”- Laura-May Carter of Blood Red Shoes comments on the duo’s somewhat gruesome video for Speech Coma which features a drag queen losing her tongue mid performance…hey it beats sepia toned video clips of a band in a recording studio for three minutes.
Oddly enough though the video doesn’t overshadow the sheer brilliance of this addictively good track, in fact it only compliments the raw gritty sound of Speech Coma which is a stunt few could pull off without being lablled as “them musicians what had that mad video”. Let’s hope BRS keep their tongues intact for the forseeable future so…
