The band is marking two decades in the game in style
We’re not even past Christmas yet but it’s already shaping up to be quite the summer of music in Crystal Palace Park. As well as playing host to Big Smoke, the inaugural festival from Skepta, in July, the South London park is also welcoming Bloc Party for a huge gig the very next day.
It’ll be the band’s biggest show to date and it’s all in honour of the 20th anniversary of the release of the first proper Bloc Party single – yes it’s really been 20 years. You can expect to hear all the greatest hits at the show as well as their debut album Silent Alarm played in full. The band actually did a small Silent Alarm tour back in 2018 so if you missed out on tickets for those, you’ve got another chance to hear the record (and what a record it is) being performed live. The Hives, Friendly Fires, The Mysterines and Connie Constance are also on the bill and tickets are on sale now so snap them up!
