Maxime, Yannis and Malik Alary are expanding their Blanchette empire with a second outpost opening on Brick Lane this August. The new spot will retain some signature elements from the Soho bistro but will definitely have an identity of its own. With vintage Parisian decor, the restaurant will be split into three areas; a dining counter, the main space, and a private dining room called The Cote d’Azur, with another mural from Aldo Gigli. The menu at Blanchette East will also incorporate more Southern French and North African influences, so expect to see dishes like lamb tagine with apricots, roast poussin with tarragon & pommes Sarladaise, and wild strawberry & black pepper vacherin alongside the classic crispy frog’s legs and cheese beignets. It’s a Blanchette bistro given an urban East London twist.
