They’ve got Gloria, they’ve got Circolo Popolare and now everyone’s fave OTT French restaurant group are expanding their London empire by opening the Florence-inspired Ave Mario in Covent Garden, and of course, it’s gonna be massive. 295 covers will be spread across two terraces (one of which will be an inner courtyard) and one indoor dining room, with a 3500-strong bottle wall, a 70s-style mirrored basement and space for counter dining somehow all packed in there too.
Whilst the menu at Ave Mario won’t feature the Big Mamma classics we’ve become used to, there will be plenty of dishes for the ‘gram, including Italian Baeri caviar, carbonara ravioli, gigantic cotoletta Milanese, and continuing their tradition of ridiculously oversized puds, a 60cm tall stracciatella ice cream cake marbled with chocolate spread. MAMMA MIA. This takes the number of Big Mamma places in London to three and we’re expecting to see another announcement soon….
